How to Measure Your Van in 30 Seconds
Measure from the ground to where the awning will attach – your awning rail, wind-out awning cassette or gutter – then match it to a height band:
Low 180–220cm – VW Transporter, California, Transit Custom, Vivaro, Trafic, Bongo

How do I know what height drive away awning I need?
Park on level ground and measure from the ground to the point the awning will attach – your awning rail, wind-out awning or the top of the gutter. Under 220cm is low, 210–255cm is mid, and 255–305cm is tall.
What drive away awning fits a VW T5 or T6?
Any low drive away awning with a 180–220cm fitting height fits the VW T5, T6, T6.1 and T7, including the Vango Cove III Low Air, Kampa Cross Air TC, Outdoor Revolution Cayman Air Low and Outwell Talladega Air.
What drive away awning fits a VW California?
The California connects at around 190–200cm, so choose a low awning. The Outwell Santa Monica Air, Daytona Air and Talladega Air (175–200cm) are popular choices and attach to the factory wind-out awning with a drive away kit.
What awning fits a Fiat Ducato or Peugeot Boxer?
Large panel vans and motorhomes need a tall drive away awning with a 255–305cm fitting height, such as the Vango Galli Pro Air Tall or Outdoor Revolution Cayman Air High.
Do I need a drive away kit?
Yes, unless your awning includes one. A twin or figure-8 kit slides into your awning rail or wind-out awning channel; if you have no rail, use a magnetic strip, pole and clamp, or fit a Raptor awning rail.
Air or poled drive away awning?
Air awnings pitch in around 10 minutes with a pump and are the most popular choice. Poled awnings are lighter on the wallet, pack smaller and are a good pick for occasional trips.
