A more comfortable night in a campervan starts with a mattress that actually fits the bed. If you have a rock and roll or RIB-style setup, the advertised bed width is a useful starting point, but it is not the whole measurement. Here is how to check your space before choosing a 112cm mattress.
Measure the bed in sleeping position
Unfold the bed fully and measure the flat, usable sleeping surface from end to end and side to side. Do not rely on a model name or nominal width alone. Raised edges, hinges, seatbelts and other fittings may reduce the area available for a mattress or stop it lying flat.
The Quest AirLux 10 Rock n Roll 112 mattress measures 180 x 112 x 10cm when open. Compare both its length and width with your own usable bed measurements. A bed labelled 112cm wide is not, by itself, a guarantee of compatibility.
What does the 10cm depth offer?
The AirLux 10 uses a 10cm self-inflating foam core to add cushioning over a suitable sleeping platform. Its flat foam construction has horizontal drill holes, and two Cyclone one-way valves help with inflation and deflation without a separate pump. Follow the product instructions for final firmness and packing away.
Think about storage as well as sleeping space
A mattress also needs somewhere to go between trips. This model weighs 5.8kg, packs to 73 x 30 x 28cm and includes a carry bag. Check that the packed size works with your campervan storage space, not just that the mattress fits the unfolded bed.
Can you try it before you buy?
Yes, the Quest AirLux 10 is on display at World Of Camping, 4 Bamber House, Victoria, PL26 8LQ. Visit to see and feel the mattress in person, and check opening hours before travelling. Display availability does not by itself confirm stock for collection.
Quick pre-purchase checklist
- Measure the unfolded bed's flat, usable length and width.
- Allow for raised edges, hinges, seatbelts and other obstructions.
- Compare your measurements with the mattress's 180 x 112cm open size.
- Check that the 73 x 30 x 28cm packed size suits your storage space.
