Fitting an awning to your Campervan.
It is important that you buy an awning with the correct gutter attachment method for your camper.
Modern drive away tent awnings commonly use one of three attachment methods:
"Figure of 8 awning track"
The most common method utilizes the "figure 8". This is a plastic mould, which resembles the figure 8 when viewed end-on. One side of the figure 8 ('C' section) slides onto the motorhome awning via the awning's extended rear gusset. The gusset would normally incorporate a strip of circular cord for this purpose. The other side of the figure 8 then simply clips onto the gutter or awning track of the motor caravan.

"Pole and clamps"
Pole and clamps are often supplied with the awning and are a simple and effective way to attach your awning to your van.
The pole fits into a sleeve on the awning. The clamps then attach to the pole on one side and the gutter rail/awning track on the other. The poles make use of butterfly nuts to secure.

"Fiamma/Omnistor Adaption Kit"
For Fiamma Windout Awnings. Simply slide the narrower length of twin piping into the channel of the wind-out awning. Now slide the figure of 8 plastic strips onto the opposite side of the same twin piping section. Finally, the opposite side of the figure 8 slides onto the piping sewn onto the back of your awning.
